What it does

Disqus is heavy — it pulls in a lot of third-party JavaScript. Disqus Conditional Load defers all of that until the reader actually wants the comments, loading it on scroll or on click instead of on every page view.

Comments shouldn’t cost you your page-speed score. This plugin keeps Disqus fully functional while removing its performance penalty from the critical path. Maintained since 2014.
