Why traders run it
Breakout, not prediction
Positions on both sides of the range and commits only when price genuinely breaks through — never on a touch or near-miss.
Breakeven, fast
The stop advances to breakeven the moment a trade is onside, then trails the move. It is why the average loss stays small.
Risk sized for you
Each position is calculated from your risk percentage and equity, capped by your maximum lot and snapped to your broker's lot step.
Knows when to stand aside
A position cap, post-trade cooldown, automatic weekend pause, and an optional losing-streak cooldown keep exposure bounded.
Live on-chart dashboard
Account, strategy state, and position counts drawn over your chart and refreshed every second — even when the market is closed.
Nothing to optimise
The strategy ships dialled in. You set risk and behaviour for your own account; the other parameters are fixed at the factory.
What it does
A fully automated MQL5 expert advisor that scalps gold breakouts, moving each trade to breakeven early and trailing the rest — pre-tuned, with just eight settings.
How it trades
Gold Scalpel identifies meaningful highs and lows around price and positions itself on both sides of the range, letting the market pick the direction. It commits only on a genuine break — then switches immediately to protecting the trade.
Most trades end at scratch or with a small profit, a few ride a clean breakout for a real win, and large losses are rare because the stop moves to breakeven early. You do not need a high win rate; you need the average loss kept tiny. There is no martingale, grid, or averaging into losers.
Before you buy
Gold Scalpel is a scalper, so spread is the single biggest factor in how it performs. It runs on any broker, but it is built for raw-spread or zero-spread accounts. On a standard wide-spread account the edge erodes quickly.
The free demo runs in the MT5 Strategy Tester — use it to backtest on your own gold history, on your own broker’s spreads, before you buy.
Trading involves risk. No strategy wins every trade, and past performance — including backtests — does not guarantee future results. Test on a demo account before committing real capital, and only risk what you can afford to lose.

Frequently asked questions
Is Gold Scalpel a scalper or a breakout EA?
Both — it scalps gold by trading genuine range breakouts. It places orders on both sides of the range and commits only when price actually breaks through, so there is no directional prediction involved; a touch or a near-miss does not trigger an entry.
What are the minimum requirements to run Gold Scalpel?
MetaTrader 5 with a XAUUSD (gold) symbol from your broker. It runs on one chart and is licensed for up to 10 devices with a one-time purchase. A free demo is available for the MT5 Strategy Tester, so you can backtest before buying.
How does Gold Scalpel manage risk?
Every position is sized from your risk percentage and account equity, capped by a maximum-lot ceiling and snapped to your broker's lot step. The stop moves to breakeven as soon as a trade is onside and then trails the move, and exposure is bounded by a position cap, a post-trade cooldown, an automatic weekend pause, and an optional losing-streak cooldown.
Does Gold Scalpel need optimising or curve-fitting?
No. It ships pre-tuned with eight settings, and only the risk and behaviour parameters are meant to be changed for your account — the rest are fixed. There is no optimisation step and no parameter set to re-fit as conditions change.
Can I test Gold Scalpel before buying?
Yes. A free demo runs in the MT5 Strategy Tester, so you can backtest the EA on your own broker's gold history before you spend anything. Note that backtested performance never guarantees future results — trading gold is high risk, and nothing here is financial advice.
